Pelé

Edson Arantes do Nascimento "Pelé" is the best Brazilian player of all time. He scored over 1,300 goals for the two clubs he played for, Santos and New York Cosmos, and 77 goals for the national team of Brasi. He was World Champion with Brasil three times.

Maradona

Armando Diego Maradona is definitely the best football player that Argentina ever had and some say he is the best player that ever lived. He won the 1986 World Championship and several trophies with Napoli, Barcelona, Boca Juniors, Valencia and several other clubs. Unfortunately, his career was marked with scandals involving drugs and doping abuse.

Ronaldinho

Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, also known as Ronaldinho Gaucho, is the best player of the new generation of footballers that emerged from Brasil.

Zinedine Zidane

Zinedine Zidane, the great Zizou, is considered to be the best midfield player of all times. He was born in Marseille and although he was of Algerian origin, he played his football for France. He was the champion of World and Europe with France and Champions League winner with Real Madrid.

Marco van Basten is one of the best strikers that ever lived, and one of the best Dutch football players of all time. His career was abrubtly ended by a terrible injury during one match for Milan.

Johann Cruyff

Johan Cruyff is the best Dutch player of all times. He was the leader of a legendary Ajax team in the mid 70's and the great generation of Holland.

Franz Beckenbauer

The legendary Franz Beckenbauer is the best defender ever, tha captain of the greatest Bayern Munich generation, legendary German national team and he was also a great coach. He is now the president of Bayern and the German football association. He was known as the Kaiser, meaning Emperor.

Davor Suker

Davor Suker was the Golben Boot of the France '98 World Cup when Croatia won the third place, and a legend of Dinamo Zagreb, Sevilla and Real Madrid. He is the best goalscorer of Croatia ever.

Oliver Kahn

Some say he is the best goalkeeper ever. The great Oliver Kahn led the average Germany football team to the World Championship finals in 2002 and won the best player award for that competition.

Gianfranco Zola

Gianfranco Zola was named by his Napoli team colleague Maradona as his succesor, and coming from Maradona, for some people the best player ever, it speaks for itself.
