Top 8 Bike GPS

8. Earthmate PN-40

Earthmate PN-40 box shot
Although it is not designed specifically as a road bike GPS, the Earthmate PN-40 has qualities that make it a great option for some cyclists. The best feature of the Earthmate outdoor and bike GPS is the number of detailed maps that are available. To take full advantage of the Earthmate PN-40 GPS unit you should sign up for the annual map subscription, making it possible for you to download an unlimited number of maps. These maps are constantly being updated to provide the most accurate information possible. Although there is an annual fee, the fee is pretty low for this must-have feature.

Features:
Though you can download a number of detailed maps through DeLorme, there are still quite a few features missing from this unit. These features are evidence that though this GPS unit has many of the qualities of a bike GPS, it was not designed solely for that purpose. It lacks the ability to track heart rate data, calories burned, cadence and temperature. These features are commonly found in cycle computers, so this GPS may be a good choice if you already ride with a cycle computer.

Design:
We were very impressed with this bike GPS. Though it has a somewhat small display screen, measuring 2.2 inches diagonally, it provides excellent quality and color. The GPS is controlled with buttons located beneath the display screen. The battery life of this GPS is significantly shorter than the other bike GPS units we reviewed, lasting approximately eight hours. It runs on two AA alkaline batteries. The GPS has 7.5GB of internal memory and has an SD card slot for additional memory.

Ease of Use:
We found the GPS unit fairly intuitive and easy to use. With the DeLorme manual and other help and support resources found on the DeLorme website, we were able to quickly learn how to navigate the GPS and utilize the various features and tools. We recommend at least skimming over the available resources to ensure that you are taking advantage of all the available features.

Help & Support:
Through the DeLorme website you can access contact information for the company as well as help and support resources for specific products. There are two ways to contact DeLorme: through email and through a toll-free phone number. We emailed them with inquiries regarding the GPS and have yet to receive a response; however, each time we called them we were quickly connected to a representative who was able to answer our questions on the product. Their representatives seem to have a great deal of knowledge regarding the products. We were impressed with their efficiency and knowledge and felt that they are an excellent company to work with despite the fact that they don’t respond to emails. If you need to get in touch with them, make sure to call them.

Summary:
Though the DeLorme Earthmate PN-40 GPS unit is an excellent choice for a bike GPS unit, we recommend viewing the higher-ranked products that are available. The battery life of this GPS unit is half of what the higher-ranked products can provide. In addition to purchasing the annual subscription to download unlimited maps, you will also be required to purchase a bike mount. The costs are small compared to many GPS units but will add to the product’s overall price.

7. Edge 205

Edge 205 box shot
The Garmin Edge 205 is a very basic bike GPS unit. It functions more like a cycle computer with the features and the data it provides. The Edge 205 doesn’t have the ability to read or display maps and therefore lacks the ability to provide navigation. It does work with GPS satellites and will track your route, heart rate, cadence, climb and descent to help make your training more productive.

Features:
As mentioned above, the Garmin Edge 205 compiles data and tracks your speed, distance, time, calories burned, altitude, climb, descent, heart rate and cadence. It doesn’t display maps or give you turn-by-turn navigation, so you won't have the full GPS experience. However, the included features may be all that some cyclists require, and though this basic unit won’t satisfy the needs of many cyclists, it could be a good place to start your training.

Design:
This Garmin GPS lacks a color display as well as a touchscreen interface. It has a rectangular screen that measures 1.17 x 1.44 inches. The bike GPS runs on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery which will last approximately 12 hours. It weighs 3.1 ounces, has a water resistant exterior and is GPS-enabled with a high-sensitive receiver.
You can use this GPS with Garmin Connect, Garmin Training Center, Virtual Partner and Courses to get a more intense training. Virtual Partner allows you to compete against a virtual person while Courses allows you to compete against yourself in a previous ride. The Garmin 205 does have an auto pause feature which will pause and resume the GPS based on your speed; when you stop moving for a short amount of time it will stop recording time until you begin moving again. This is made to help the battery life last longer.

Ease of Use:
The Edge 205 is a fairly intuitive GPS device. Once you get comfortable with the device and navigation you will more than likely breeze through the menu and options while you customize the GPS to your personal settings. We found that some users became frustrated while using the GPS, but they neglected to use the help and support resources available. Again, the device is intuitive and simple to navigate, but it may take some getting used to at first.

Help & Support:
Garmin provides a number of help and support resources for the Edge 205 bike GPS on their website. You can access product-specific resources through the links on the right side of the product page. The resources include manuals, training software, FAQs and information for all the extra training programs you will have the opportunity to take advantage of.
Garmin provides an email address in addition to a toll-free phone number in case you need to get in touch with a customer support representative. Each time we sent an inquiry via email we received a response within approximately 48 hours. If you call via the toll-free phone number you can expect to get in touch with a representative more quickly. The representatives that we spoke with were efficient and knowledgeable regarding the product and were able to answer each of our questions.

Summary:
The Garmin Edge 205 is a solid bike GPS unit. It is becoming outdated with its black and white screen and lack of ability to download and view maps. Although this product may work for your needs, we suggest viewing the higher-ranked products for more features, tools and overall abilities.

6. Earthmate PN-60w

Earthmate PN-60w box shot
We are very impressed with DeLorme’s Earthmate PN-60w bike GPS. You can use this bike GPS for a number of different activities, including but not limited to: cycling, hiking, geocaching, boating, hunting, fishing, driving and off-roading. In fact, there is a separate mode for each of those pastimes. This bicycling GPS doesn’t function like a cycling computer since it lacks several components a cyclist would look for in a cycling computer; however, it provides a plethora of detailed maps and excellent turn-by-turn navigation. The only difference between this model (the PN-60w) and the PN-60 is the SPOT Satellite Communicator. We are thrilled with the performance of this product, but we aren’t sure the SPOT Satellite Communicator is necessary for most cyclists.

Features:
The Earthmate PN-60w has the ability to track your speed, distance, time, altitude, climb and descent during your ride. It even has a barometric altimeter for more accurate altitude readings. There are countless maps covering both North America and Canada included with the product – topographical maps, trail maps and maps covering streets, roads and places of interest.
One feature that is unique to the PN-60w bike GPS is its ability to connect to the Spot Satellite Communicator and provide you with a personal mobile satellite connection. Once connected you can share your location with family and friends via text messages, Facebook and Twitter or let them track your progress via Google Maps. This feature provides awesome functionality found in the PN-60w alone. Although we found it extremely useful in many situations, it is an extra that many cyclists said they could go without.

Design:
The Earthmate PN-60w has a glossy black finish and isn’t available in any other colors. It has a beautiful color screen that measures 2.2 inches diagonally and weighs 7 ounces. It is one of the heaviest bike GPS units we reviewed, but also one of the most durable. It is built to withstand being dropped, scratched and rained on, and it won’t automatically shut off when it’s jolted or bumped. It runs on two AA alkaline batteries which will last for approximately 15 hours. It has a built-in SD card slot for additional memory. Unfortunately, the bike mount is sold separately.

Ease of Use:
We found this bike GPS fairly simple to navigate. Because it lacks the touchscreen that many vehicle GPS units provide, it may take some time for some users to get used to it. The buttons are all labeled with their corresponding functions, which provides greater ease for navigation and use.

Help & Support:
Through the DeLorme website you can retrieve contact information for the customer service team. They are available through a toll-free phone number as well as through a customer support email address. We attempted contacting DeLorme customer support through their email address and never received a response. When we contacted them by phone, we were connected to a representative almost immediately who was able to answer our questions very efficiently and had a great deal of knowledge regarding the bike GPS unit.

Summary:
Overall we were very impressed with the abilities and the design of the Earthmate PN-60w. While the SPOT Satellite Communicator may come in handy for mountain bikers, it seems like an extra, unnecessary expense for road bikers. The bicycle GPS also lacks many of the features that cyclists want in a cycle computer – for example: calorie counter, heart rate monitor, cadence sensor and temperature reading. While these things are not vital, they provide extra information that we found cyclists appreciate during training.

5. Edge 605

Edge 605 box shot
The Garmin Edge 605 is a combination bike GPS and cycle computer. It has the ability to read maps as well as provide data on speed, distance, time, calories burned, climb and descent information. Like other Garmin products, you must purchase a Garmin City Navigator microSD card to get the best results. This bicycle GPS is not ranked higher because it lacks the feature set of our top products. The bike GPS still provides many desired training tools for cyclists and offers the turn-by-turn navigation that cyclists want from a good GPS bike unit.

Features:
Although the feature set in the Garmin Edge 605 drops drastically from other Garmin bike GPS units, it still has more features than most bicycle GPS units available in today’s market. This Garmin bike GPS is one of the few that lacks popular features found in cycle computers – features like a heart rate monitor and cadence tracker. This bike GPS also lacks the ability to provide a temperature reading and is not designed with a barometric altimeter. The features that you will find in this bicycle GPS unit include map reading abilities and display, turn-by-turn navigation, speed analysis and data for distance, time and calories burned. The unit will also track your altitude and record your climbs and descents. The features worked as promised; however, you may want to take some time learning how to properly utilize the features correctly so you can get the most out of the device.

Design:
Because there are a variety of activities you can use your Garmin 605 for, Garmin has designed it with a microSD card slot. With this card slot you can download and save maps to a microSD card or you can purchase a Garmin street map microSD card. For optimal results, the Garmin City Navigator microSD map card is highly encouraged. Through our research we found that other users were disappointed that they had to purchase a separate Garmin map card to download maps onto their unit. The card is somewhat costly so we recommend adding it into the cost of the Edge 605 before you decide if it is the right bike GPS for you.
Despite the additional costs required to more fully use and enjoy your Garmin Edge 605 bike GPS, it has an excellent design. It has a color display measuring 1.37 x 1.71 inches, which is 2.2 inches diagonally. It doesn’t have a touchscreen but instead is navigated by buttons on either side of the unit as well as directly beneath the display screen. It runs by the rechargeable li-polymer batteries and has an approximate battery life of 15 hours. The battery life does depend on how much you use the back light.

Ease of Use:
If you have no prior experience using Garmin GPS products, it may take some time for you to get used to the Edge 605 bike GPS. The navigation is fairly intuitive, and once you get accustomed to the menu options you should have no problems using the unit in the future. Because the options are more extensive, you should program your GPS before beginning your bike ride instead of trying to program it while riding.

Help & Support:
Garmin has excellent help and support resources in place to assist you with your Garmin bike GPS product. Through the product page and the main page of the website you can access manuals, FAQs, the Garmin Training Center and software upgrades. You can also contact the Garmin customer support team via email or by telephone. The customer support team responded to our inquiries within 24 hours and was consistent in providing specific answers for each of our questions.

Summary:
Although there are other Garmin GPS units that we recommend more highly than the Garmin Edge 605, it is still an excellent product for some cyclists. If this bike GPS unit offered navigational features along with a heart rate monitor, cadence/speed sensor, barometric altimeter and temperature readings, we would have ranked it higher. Without these key features many cyclists will be required to purchase not only this bicycle GPS but a cycle computer as well. If you already have a cycle computer and are in the market for a bike GPS to accompany it, then this is a great product that will provide you with those turn-by-turn instructions you are hoping for.

4. Earthmate PN-60

Earthmate PN-60 box shot
The DeLorme Earthmate PN-60 bike GPS wasn’t designed specifically for cycling; however, that doesn’t mean it can’t be used as a bicycle GPS. You can purchase a bike mount separately and follow the turn-by-turn prompts the GPS provides. This bike GPS is an excellent outdoor product and weighs slightly more than many bike specific GPS units, but it makes up for the weight in durability.

Features:
Unlike many bike GPS units that also include the features of a cycle computer, the DeLorme Earthmate functions solely as a bike GPS. It doesn’t provide the ability to track calories burned, heart rate, cadence or temperature. On the other hand, it does provide excellent, detailed maps with turn-by-turn navigation. It also provides data on your speed, distance, time and altitude. It even offers a barometric altimeter for more accurate altitude readings. Through our research we found that cyclists who used the DeLorme Earthmate PN-60 as their bike GPS were very impressed not only with the quality of the maps but with the number of maps they received as well. The Earthmate can navigate you on roads, trails and through the U.S. Bureau of Land Management recreational land such as national parks.

Design:
The screen size is not very large and measures only 2.2 inches diagonally. It is somewhat hard to read while cycling but still very doable. The cycling GPS offers a color display but is controlled via buttons found beneath the display. The bike GPS uses AA alkaline batteries. Through our research we found that some cyclists prefer rechargeable lithium-ion batteries while others prefer the disposable alkaline batteries. It's simply a matter of preference.
There is an SD card slot that cyclists can use for 32GB of additional memory in addition to the 3.5 GB built-in memory. It is a waterproof unit and, as mentioned above, very durable.

Ease of Use:
If you haven’t had experience with GPS units in the past, we recommend that you read the manuals available for the product. Though some cyclists will pick up the navigation rather quickly, others have said that it is slightly confusing and takes some time to get used to. Don’t be in such a hurry to use the GPS unit that you skip over learning about all the features it has to offer.

Help & Support:
Through the DeLorme website you will find the company’s contact information. The customer service representatives and technical support staff are available via email. They also have a toll-free phone number that you can call if you have questions regarding your bike GPS device. We attempted contacting them through both means of communication. When we contacted them through email regarding their GPS unit, we never received a response; however, when we contacted them using their toll-free phone number we were connected with a representative right away who was able to answer each of our questions.

Summary:
Overall, we believe that the DeLorme Earthmate PN-60 is an excellent bike GPS. The detailed maps, in addition to the quantity of maps, alone make this product an excellent purchase. It can be used for a variety of purposes and may be the perfect solution for many of your outdoor activities. The GPS bike mount is sold separately, which in the end will make the overall product price slightly higher. If you have a cycle computer, this may be a great addition so that you have access to all the data you want. If you don’t own a cycle computer, keep in mind that this unit does not provide data on calories, heart rate, cadence and temperature.

3. Edge 500

Edge 500 box shot
Although the Garmin Edge 500 lacks a color display and a touchscreen interface, there are still plenty of features and design specs that keep it ranked as one of the best bike GPS units available today. As the winner of the TopTenREVIEWS Bronze Award in bicycle GPS products, the Garmin 500 combined cycle computer and bike GPS unit offers a durable outdoor design, perfect for any bike, and a large feature set that will provide you with more functionality than almost any other bike GPS available.

Features:
The Garmin 500 provides almost all of the features that we found in more expensive bicycle GPS units. It will track your distance and provide you with data on your calories burned, altitude, climb, descent, time, cadence, temperature and heart rate; it also has a built-in barometric altimeter for more accurate readings on the altitude. You must purchase a heart rate monitor and a cadence bike sensor separately for use with this bicycle GPS.

Design:
If you measure the rectangular screen on the Garmin Edge 500 you will find that it is 1.17 x 1.44 inches. It is a black and white screen that, though clear in many situations, can be hard to read depending on the weather conditions. The screen can display up to eight pieces of data at a single time, though we think the small screen is a little cluttered with that much info. It's best to display three to five stats at a time on the screen. The Garmin allows you to select the data and the design you would like displayed. You can customize three different screens and conveniently switch between them.
There are two buttons on either side of the Edge 500. The buttons on the left control the display and menu items while the buttons on the right are used to control the navigation features. The Garmin doesn’t register that the buttons have been pushed if you accidently bump one while reaching for your water bottle or taking a break and resting your arms across your handle bars; the buttons must be pushed with some force for the Garmin to change displays or reset.

Ease of Use:
As we mentioned above, the Garmin Edge 500 offers a number of great features that we found cyclists want in combination bicycle GPS and cycle computers. We found that though this bike GPS has the ability to work as a bicycle computer, it is still not completely accurate on all of the data it will present. Through our research we found that the elevation data will be at times 10 or 20 feet off from the actual reading. Despite this, our research shows that cyclists still prefer the Garmin Edge 500 over other cycle GPS units.
Our other caution regarding the ease of use is that it may not be the most user-friendly device on the market. It is fairly simple to run, but it may take some play time to get used it. We suggest you get comfortable navigating your way around the device and accessing its many features and tools before you take it out on the road. Once you are biking it will be more difficult to navigate your way around the device, if you have no prior knowledge. We do suggest taking advantage of the help and support resources, including the product manual, to ensure you don’t miss any of the available feature options.

Help & Support:
Through the Garmin website you can access the product page for the Garmin Edge 500. This product page provides an overview of the product features as well as quick links to the help and support resources available for this specific Garmin Edge model. The quick links include links to manuals, software, FAQs and a “Training with Garmin” resource page. Accessing these resources through the product page is quick and simple. You won’t have to sift through other products to ensure that you are getting the resources for your specific product and model.
There is another link at the top of the Garmin website labeled, “Support.” Through this link you will have access to all of the help and support resources for every Garmin product available. You can search by device and select the Edge 500 to retrieve all of the help and support resources available. Through this page you can also contact the Garmin customer support team. Garmin provides a toll free phone number that you can use to call them as well as email support. We emailed them several times with inquiries regarding their products and each time we received a response within 48 business hours. Each email response was written specifically for us and answered our questions in a detailed but simple manner. Given that the Garmin customer support team was so efficient and easy to work with, we believe that if a problem should arise, you will most likely have no problem working with them to take advantage of the one-year warranty.

Summary:
We recommend the Garmin Edge 500 bike GPS and recognize it as one of the top products available. It was designed specifically for cyclists and flaunts the features and the design to back it up. We were impressed with the number of features available within this bicycle GPS as well as the customizable display options that you can set to your own liking. It has an easy-to-use bike mount, a long battery life (lasting up to 18 hours), GPS bike navigation and all the data you would find in a cycle computer.

2. Edge 800

Edge 800 box shot
The Garmin Edge 800 is a top bike GPS device because it provides a combination of GPS and navigation features as well as data you would find in a cycle computer. This all-in-one product makes training simple and convenient. It provides a touchscreen with color display and a large feature set. Throughout our research on this product we found many cyclists who were very pleased with the performance of the bike GPS. This Garmin Edge 800 review will take you through the ranked categories and explain why this bicycle GPS has received the TopTenREVIEWS Silver Award for bike GPS devices.

Features:
We were very impressed with the feature set of the Garmin 800 bike GPS unit. It offers turn-by-turn navigation, temperature readings, a barometric altimeter and workout information such as speed analysis, distance, time, climb and descent info, calories burned, cadence and heart rate. Throughout the research we performed we found that the Garmin 800 will at times lead you onto a busy highway; however, this can be avoided in most circumstances if you select the option to avoid major roads.

Design:
This bicycle GPS is the best unit with touchscreen abilities. It has a full color screen and a rectangular display measuring 1.4 x 2.2 or 2.6 inches diagonally. While most bike GPS units and cycle computers weigh well over 3.5 ounces, the Garmin 800 weighs a mere 3.5 ounces. It has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery which will last approximately 15 hours. The battery life will also largely depend on your use of the back-light. Like other outdoor cycle computers and bike GPS units, the Garmin Edge 800 is water resistant and has a high-sensitive receiver.

Ease of Use:
Using the Garmin 800 will take some getting used to for most cyclists. If you have owned a Garmin GPS product before, you'll have a head start navigating this bicycle GPS unit; however, it still may require you to read the user manual for a more complete understanding. We suggest getting all of your route information entered before beginning your ride; otherwise you will be stopping on the side of the road to enter in all of your necessary data. If you choose this product, be prepared to pay some additional money for the Garmin City Navigator Map card to get the turn-by-turn instructions. The heart rate monitor and speed/cadence sensor is also sold separately unless you purchase the Garmin 800 bundled bike GPS.

Help & Support:
As we mentioned in our other Garmin bike GPS reviews, Garmin has a variety of excellent help and support resources available for their users. Like other Garmin products, the Garmin 800 has specific online resources that will assist you in understanding and using your combination bike GPS and cycle computer. Once you have landed on the Garmin website, you must first navigate yourself to the Edge 800 product page. On the right side of this page there will be quick links to many, but not all, of the help and support resources available for the product. The link for manuals will provide you with four different PDF documents specific for the Edge 800; these documents include: a declaration of conformity, safety and product information, an owner’s manual and a quick start guide. The manual and the quick start guide were clearly written and very simple to understand. They are useful tools to review before using the Garmin bicycle GPS, even if you are sure you know how to use it.
With the software link you can always keep your Garmin software up-to-date. Garmin provides a WebUpdater which will automatically keep your software current. Although it is one more application that you must download, it will be worth it if you always want the newest versions of the software but want to cut the hassle of doing the work yourself to get it.
Through the FAQs link you will find commonly asked questions that deal specifically with the Edge 800. You can also select to review other frequently asked questions as well; however, we found the product-specific questions to be the most helpful when dealing with this particular bike GPS. Through this FAQs page you will also have the opportunity to register your product and email product support if you can’t find the answer you are looking for.
We emailed product support several times regarding the Garmin bicycle GPS and always received a quick and thorough response that helped us understand the full details of the product. We were pleased with the customer support team and their efforts in addressing each individual inquiry and not trying to mass answer with vague responses. They provide a one-year warranty, and should you need to contact the customer support team to redeem that warranty, you can do so through their email or through a toll-free phone number provided on their site.

Summary:
Although the Garmin Edge 800 still has a couple bugs that need to be worked out of it, it is a choice product that we found many users would never part with. We recommend reading the manuals before taking this product for a ride. Garmin has an impressive customer support team, and we like the one-year warranty. This unit has all the features of a bike GPS and a cycle computer rolled into one product, which means it will have more menu choices and navigation than less advanced products. As mentioned above, it will require some extra purchases but is worth the money for the features and data you will receive.

1. Edge 705

Edge 705 box shot
When searching for a bike GPS we recommend selecting a product that will meet all of your needs. For us, the Garmin Edge 705 met all of the requirements we were searching for. This bike GPS combines the data of a cycle computer with the brilliance of a GPS. It quickly became the best cycle computer and bike GPS product available when we saw its combination of features and design. The Garmin 705 is easy to use and allows bikers to select what appears on screen. As the TopTenREVIEWS Gold Award winner for bicycle GPS units, we recommend this product to serious cyclers who want an all encompassing product for navigational purposes as well as training purposes.

Features:
With this bicycle GPS you will have the ability to receive turn by turn navigation instructions and color maps. The Garmin Edge has a card slot compartment that's compatible with microSD cards. The microSD card must be purchased separately but makes it possible for you to store maps, workouts and some of your favorite routes. It keeps track of your speed, distance, ride time, calories, altitude and cadence. The GPS bicycle computer also provides a barometric altimeter which is an extremely useful feature for serious bikers who want to get a more accurate reading of the elevation during their workout or training.
In addition to providing you with navigation and the ability to track your personal health data, the Garmin Edge has the ability to help you train and improve your performance. By connecting the bike GPS to your personal computer you can take advantage of Garmin Connect, on online site that stores all of your workout data so you can view a comprehensive analysis at any time. You can use the Garmin Edge for indoor workouts and outdoor workouts, and it will keep track of your activity, training, goals and progress. Through Garmin Connect you can also share your activities, training, maps and other information with family and friends. It is a great way to motivate one another, train with each other and have friendly competitions.

Design:
The Garmin Edge flaunts an excellent design that bikers can truly appreciate. Although it doesn’t have a touchscreen interface, which we were somewhat disappointed about, it does offer a color display which enhances the maps and creates a more simple-to-follow navigation for some users. The navigation can direct you on road and off road depending upon the maps you download and save to your card. Like their website promises, the screen is easy to read, even in sunlight. However, we did find that you must have the backlight set to almost 100 percent for readability purposes in the shade or with sunglasses.
Like most bicycle computers, the Garmin Edge is a waterproof device. It runs with a rechargeable li-polymer battery and can last approximately 15 hours on a single charge; however, this does vary depending on the use of the backlight. The bike mount is included with the GPS, which is awesome because it isn’t included with all GPS cycle units.

Ease of Use:
We were very impressed with how easy the Garmin Edge 705 is for bikers to use. Something that we found to be extremely helpful is the bike GPS’s ability to give you bike-specific routes. If you type in a destination, the GPS will give you alternative routes for cyclists instead of major highways and streets.
Although the GPS is simple to use and proves to be a great cycle computer for any biker, some cyclists did mention that they ran into problems while using Garmin Connect and the Garmin Training Center software. Because these are bonus features that aren't crucial for navigation, we aren't too disappointed that they occasionally have issues. We expect that these additional cycling resources will be continually improved upon by Garmin, and in the meantime we found that both Garmin Connect and the Garmin Training Center provide beneficial tools that can assist you in performance and training.

Help & Support:
Through the Garmin website you can find an informative product page on the Edge 705. Horizontally lining the right-hand side of the page is a list of quick links for help and support resources. The list includes a link to manuals, software, FAQs, training videos and several other resources that will assist you in getting the most from your Garmin bike GPS.
By clicking on the link to manuals you will get a list of manuals that were created specifically for the Garmin Edge 705. There are four different manuals that you can download and view to gain additional information on the product. The software quick links allow you to update the software within your bicycle computer to keep it up-to-date. The FAQs section deals specifically with the Edge 705 GPS bike product, making it convenient and easy to use. There are over 100 FAQs that are available on the website under the Garmin cycling computer model 705. The questions were not the easiest to navigate through because they are not broken up into smaller categories. The FAQs are simply a long list of questions, each paired with a brief answer below. The website only displays five questions at a time and the rest remain hidden. The FAQs are very informative and cover several popular topics; however, without reading every question and answer, it’s hard to find the exact one you need.
At the top of the page is a support link for additional resources dealing with your Garmin cycle GPS. The options include product registration, software, manuals, FAQs, learning center, repair, search support and contact support. If you choose to access the resources through this link, you will be required to search for your product by category and model. This does take a little extra time, but you will be required to select your product either way you access help and support so that you can receive product-specific resources.
If you send an inquiry to the Garmin customer support team regarding your biking GPS on a Friday, you most likely will not receive a response until Monday. They do send an auto-generated response letting you know that your email inquiry has been received. The customer service representatives were direct in their responses and we were able to easily understand the answers we received.

Summary:
As stated above, we are very impressed with the design and the feature set found in the Garmin Edge 705 bike GPS and cycle computer. The product is easy to use and provides excellent data and a beautiful color screen for you to take advantage of while you ride. We are disappointed that this gpscyclecomputer doesn’t have the temperature reading and display option or the touchscreen interface. Although we would have appreciated these features being a part of the bicycle GPS, we are still impressed with its overall design and feature set. We find it to be the best cycle computer and combination bike GPS available today.
